Indigenous land managers have a key role to play in the global effort to reduce greenhouse gases.
Carbon House has successfully built relationships with Indigenous communities across Australia and abroad. It is our view that this alliance of empowered communities has a greater ability to generate benefits from climate change action together, than they do as individuals. We seek to provide Indigenous landholders with opportunities to realise the benefits of participating in the carbon market and see a key prospect in matching large emitters with landholders to construct mutually beneficial projects. Carbon House works with all parties to build joint ventures that fairly distribute risk and reward.
What we do
Carbon House delivers a one day workshop in Indigenous Communities in which we discuss the business opportunities that are emerging from climate change and ways in which your community can capitalise on these opportunities. We then return to your community a second time to develop an offset project that provides mutually beneficial outcomes.
We also work with Indigenous communities across Australia to facilitate and manage the development of carbon offset and renewable energy projects on Indigenous land through ventures that have wide ranging social, environmental and economic co-benefits for all stakeholders.
