| Barry Lucas | General Manager Barry is the co-founder and General Manager of Carbon House. Barry has a strong financial and legal background and a long history in innovation and project management with a focus on markets. Prior to founding Carbon House, Barry owned and managed a successful financial planning business. Within Carbon House, Barry manages day to day business operations including project oversight and business development. Barry's passion for solving complex problems and developing solutions which simultaneously achieve environmental, social and economic outcomes was one of the key platforms upon which Carbon House was founded. His vision is to see a world where the 'sustainability' concept doesn't need to exist because it has become an integral part of everyday business. |
Francis Barram | Principal Consultant Francis brings Carbon House an expansive, specialised and innovative knowledge of all things energy and sustainability. With a career spanning 22 years and 12 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, Francis is a nationally recognised leader in this sphere. He is the recipient of numerous awards including a National Energy Award and an Australian Energy Efficiency Award, amongst others. Francis holds a Bachelor of Economics and an Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering. As a consultant, Francis has vast experience working with client such as Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton, Santos, Gold Coast City Council, South Bank Corporation, John Holland Group, Delfin Lend Lease, Mirvac and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. Francis also has a strong background in ‘green design’ and is an accredited NABERs assessor and Green Star professional. Francis's passion is to create a world in which energy serves humanity for social equity and environmental sustainability. . |

| Kristine Dewar | Business Sustainability Advisor Working with
our business clients, Kristine designs and delivers innovative carbon
management and sustainability solutions across a range of areas, including
greenhouse gas inventory development and sustainability project development and
implementation. Kristine specialises in tailoring sustainability and carbon
management projects to suit individual business needs. Kristine’s broad professional background has
seen her hold positions in both private and not for profit organisations in a
range of industries including insurance, retail, mining, natural resource
management and academic research. She also holds a
Bachelor of Environmental Management (Sustainable Development) (Hons 1) from
the University of Queensland. Her Honours Thesis was undertaken through the UQ
Business School and explored corporate understanding of ecosystem services. Kristine's past
experience includes leading carbon management and sustainability projects for
clients such as Blue Care, Brisbane Markets Limited, Hamilton Island
Enterprises and RSL Care. Kristine has also recently led the development of the
second iteration of the Queensland Government’s Sustainability Roadmap As well as her role with Carbon House, Kristine also holds a position on the Board of Landcare Queensland. Outside of the office she enjoys running, playing beach volleyball, cooking and sharing a good meal with friends. |
Andrew Wilson | Strategy & Projects Advisor Andrew holds a Bachelor of Environmental Management (Sustainable Development major) (Hons 1) from the University of Queensland. At Carbon House he is involved in all areas of the business, including leading project development in emerging environmental markets whilst also being involved in business sustainability and carbon management consulting, with a special focus on analysis and strategy. His previous experience includes leading projects for clients such as the University of Queensland, Queensland Energy Resources and the Biofuels Association of Australia. Andrew also has experience leading the development and delivery of several large carbon inventories and marginal abatement cost curve (MACC) projects as well as eco-efficiency and green building projects for Redland City Council. Andrew regularly delivers guest lectures at the University of Queensland on the topics of carbon management and strategy and he has also delivered keynote presentations at the Landcare Queensland conference and for the Australian Green Development Forum. With a background in environmental management for local government, he also has extensive knowledge of environmental legislation and planning in Queensland and Australia. Away from the desk Andrew lives and breathes all things mountain biking and can be found on two wheels most weekends. He also enjoys rock climbing, kayaking and travelling. |
| Johan Karlsson | Carbon & Sustainability Analyst Johan holds
a Bachelor of Business Management (majoring in Sustainability) from the University of
Queensland. At Carbon House, he focuses on assisting to deliver innovative and
effective business sustainability and compliance solutions for our clients.
Johan is also involved in developing carbon offset projects including site analysis, identifying project activities and
estimating emission reductions. Johan brings to
the company strong technical skills which he utilises to develop cutting edge
but functional solutions both externally for our clients and also internally
for the company. Johan also plays a key role in assisting with Carbon House's
marketing including managing our web and social media presence. His past
experience includes delivering energy and carbon management solutions to
clients such as Blue Care and Brisbane Markets Limited, as well assisting to deliver major projects for the University of Queensland and Queensland Energy Resources. he has also been involved in the pre-feasability assessment and planning of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project
activities in Leyte, Philippines and San Luis, Argentina. In his free time, Johan is an avid road cyclist. He also enjoys photography and travelling. |
Ian Hustwick | Project Officer Ian holds a Bachelor of Business (majoring in Accounting) from the Queensland University of Technology and a Master of Environmental Management (majoring in Cleaner Production) from the University of Queensland. Ian's previous experience includes holding various environmental roles at Rio Tinto working across the areas of climate change and energy reporting, sustainable development and land use stewardship. Prior to entering the environmental space, Ian worked in tax and compliance at several prestigious accounting firms. He has recently returned from a 3 month internship at an African elephant research facility in Kenya where he worked on projects including mammal censuses, GIS surveys and long term monitoring of elephant populations. At Carbon House, Ian assists to sustainability and carbon management projects for our clients. Outside of Carbon House, Ian is another cycling enthusiast - he currently owns a large number of bikes of various types! He also enjoys landscape photography and a round of golf. |
| Lea McCloughan | Project Administration Officer Lea has an administration, events and training background and has held roles in the private and public sectors across a range of industries including not-for-profit organisations, a registered training organisation, Education Queensland and in a large audit and consulting firm. She is currently also finalising a Diploma of Management. Lea's role at Carbon House is to provide project support, contract administration and coordination of business and land manager training workshops. |
